Gord Wazek

Gord started playing guitar early in the 60’s and became principal writer for two albums with “Leigh Ashford”. In the 70’s it was “Fludd” and “Sweet Blindness”. Gord and partner formed a jingle company and wrote many commercials for radio and TV in the 80’s.

He has shared the stage with the likes of “The Who”,  “Sly & The Family Stone” and “Grand Funk Railroad”. Gord joined Desperado at the inception based on his love of the music of the Eagles and stayed for 12 years.

He also became the first call guitarist for some recording studios in Toronto and has worked with David Clayton Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears) and members of Steely Dan both in New York and Los Angeles. Gord also sang background volcals on Triumph’s successful “Rock &  Roll Machine”.
